Jewish Quarter Grand Apartment
A modern 2 bed, 2 bathroom full apartment renovation, set within a secessionist building in the downtown Jewish Quarter of Budapest. Our client insisted on a modern apartment interior with full amenities which compliments the period building. A new ceramic floor with was laid using a traditional herringbone pattern throughout the flat. The two tones of herringbone tile are spliced, allowing for one continuous floor pattern whilst still acknowledging different rooms and spaces. Hidden doors, mirrors, alcove lighting and carefully designed furniture work together with the floor to subdue formal boundaries, and rather emphasise openness and continuity of space across the flat.
